Are you planning to visit your dentist for wisdom teeth removal in San Diego? If so, then read on to learn the answers to common patient questions.
How long will my surgery take?
While the length of your procedure can depend on several factors, the average amount of time that you can expect to spend at the dentist office for your wisdom teeth surgery is about an hour and a half.
What can I eat after my surgery?
Following your wisdom teeth surgery, stick to liquids and soft foods as you heal. Thin soups and broths, gelatin, pudding, smoothies, and ice cream should be easy for you to eat during this time. Gradually add solid foods back into your diet as your mouth becomes less tender.
Why is my mouth so swollen?
For most patients, the swelling in their gums peaks on the third day after their wisdom teeth surgery. Applying an ice pack to the outside of your cheek for about 20 minutes at a time for the first day after your surgery can help with swelling. After the first 24 hours, switch to a cloth dampened with warm water.
